However, he's not exactly a difficult foe to deal with, even with his weakness being something as slow moving and clumsy as the Tornado Fang can be. This, of course, is exactly what Volt Catfish is. There is no surprise that a Maverick with a name like Volt Catfish will be an electrically-charged foe that shoots electricity at X. When he is defeated, his powerful Tornado Fang is yours. He'll likely break off of this routine once or twice but at least by that point you'll have a nice dent put in him. However, you can catch him in kind of a system if you hit him with the Acid Burst, then go to a wall, jump over him when he charges you, hit him before running to the other wall, and repeating this process. He launches these in weird ways, since they are on sort of a delay (and at times, he'll force you to dodge him, then his Tornado Fangs in sequence. He can also shoot his Tornado Fangs, which are missiles that have drills on them to help them dig through surfaces. This is a good time to jump away from him. Tunnel Rhino will run across his lair and smash into the walls - when this happens, if you are gripping that wall, you will fall into him. With the Acid Burst however, which you acquire from Toxic Seahorse, Tunnel Rhino becomes much more manageable. Without the Acid Burst, Tunnel Rhino can be a fairly difficult enemy to defeat. Therefore, if you continuously hit him with the Frost Shield (by hitting him, letting him jump over you, turning around, firing again, et cetera), he'll never even get a chance to attack! We knew there was something very Toad Man-esque about Toxic Seahorse's stage, but we never figured he'd fight exactly like Toad Man also (for any of you Mega Man 4 fans.) When he is defeated, you get the Acid Burst. The weapon doesn't do an incredible amount of damage to Toxic Seahorse (although more than the X-Buster), but it does cause him to jump and attempt another attack when he's struck with it. The battle with Toxic Seahorse will be so simple for you that he may not even get a chance to attack you - that is, if you're following our order and have acquired the Frost Shield from Blizzard Buffalo before attempting this fight. When all is said and done, you'll receive his Frost Shield as payment for his defeat. When he becomes really damaged, he'll even start shooting these huge ice rays across the screen (they are easy to dodge, however). He'll from time to time stop before touching the wall, throw up some ice cubes that'll cling to the wall (so destroy them quickly, while dodging them) and then continue his charge. Make sure to be quick or he'll ram into you, and him touching you is the primary way he'll do damage (and the damage is massive). As you're doing this, have the X-Buster charging again, hit him in the back, then dash and jump quickly to the other wall, where you'll repeat the process. Enter the battle with a charged X-Buster, unleash it as soon as the battle begins to get some initial damage on him, then cling to the wall to your left, climb to the top, and jump-dash over him. Part of damaging him is playing into it, however otherwise, this fight will take forever. His main attacking method is to charge X, hit the wall, turn around, and charge the other way. Blizzard Buffalo is a gigantic Maverick that has a huge lair that allows him to dash around it at will. Because of this, you may want to make sure you have the Sub Tank you find in his stage full before you enter, just in case you may need (you, of course, may not). Blizzard Buffalo isn't easy, especially when all we have to rely on is our X-Buster. Battling the first Maverick in the game in our flowchart, you may actually have some problems.
